Hi girls and Boys! Today we’re celebrating America 250 — 250 years of our country. We’re going to talk about something super important: freedom. What it took to get it, what it takes to keep it, and what YOU can do to honor our country.

⭐ Step 1 — A New World and a Big Idea (2 min.)

A long time ago in Europe, people didn’t get to choose what to believe and how to worship God. The king and a small group of people decided for everyone. But then something amazing happened — the printing press was invented, and the Bible was printed in many languages. Individuals and families could now read and learn things for themselves.

What was in the Bible? (The teachings of Jesus and the other prophets.)

People began to dream of a place where they could pray, worship, and live their faith freely. That dream led them to look across the ocean.

⭐ Step 2 — Pilgrims & Puritans: Courage to Start Fresh (2 min.)

The Pilgrims and Puritans were brave families who sailed to a new land because faith mattered so much to them. The trip was dangerous. The winters were freezing. But they believed freedom was worth it.

They built schools so kids could read the Bible. They made agreements about how to live together fairly. They planted the first seeds of freedom in America.

Step 3 — The Founding Fathers Protect Freedom (2 min.)

Many years later, the colonies grew into towns and cities. People wanted to govern themselves. The Founding Fathers studied history, the Bible, and ideas about human rights.

They created a new nation where no king could tell people what to believe. The First Amendment protects freedom of religion, speech, and conscience. That means in America, everyone can worship — or not — and no one can force you to believe something.”

Step 4 — Keeping Freedom Alive Today (1 min.)

Freedom doesn’t stay alive by accident. It takes people who are honest, kind, brave, and responsible. It takes citizens who learn the truth, help others, and stand up for what’s right.

⭐ Step 5 — What YOU Can Do (2 min.)

You don’t have to be a grown‑up to make a difference. You can:

  • Learn about history
  • Be kind and fair
  • Serve others
  • Show gratitude to veterans and helpers
  • Be brave when something is wrong
  • Love your country by celebrating it and taking care of your community
